Communications Solutions

  Auto dialer for delayed flights

An automated dialer system gives out phone calls to passengers informing about flight delays. It detects flight delays and downloads the phone numbers of all passengers. The system voices out the current departure and estimated departure time and other predefined messages.

The system can be used effectively for announcing sales promotions, frequent flyer announcements and it helps in marketing campaigns.

  SMS and email solutions

SMS and emails are automatically sent out for flight delays and cancellations. Also a free text message facility helps the airline in sending custom messages, emails at the time of marketing campaigns and sales promotions.

UBICS’ MIS system can be integrated with this solution. It pulls mobile numbers and emails of passengers travelled on airline with various filter criteria and examples as under,

  1. Passengers travelled for more than 5 times on given sector.


  2. Passengers who has given a more than specified amount of revenue.


  3. All passengers traveled on a flight, in last three months and so on…
  Inbound IVR for flight status/ for frequent flyer mileage points

The system provides an IVR menu to seek information on flight departure status.
The call center IVR announces current flight departure timings. This fully automated system captures the current departure timings for each flight after every 5 minutes. The IVR operates without any manual intervention.

The IVR solutions are used for announcing the balance mileage points that are accumulated for a frequent flyer. The IVR solutions integrate with various call center telephony systems like Avaya.

Revenue Accounting Solutions

  Flown revenue and sales MIS reports

UBICS’ custom made robotic applications pull the flight manifest and PNL information from departure control system. The system captures the flown status, no-shows, go-shows, other airline tickets, and updates the MIS database.

The sales information is captured from various sales channels including GDS bookings (TCNs), BSP – HOT files, non-IATA agents and internal sales channels like ATO, CTO and call centers etc. The MIS system links the flown transactions with sales information and prorates the flown revenue.

The custom reports for flight-wise, route-wise, channel-wise, flown revenue are automatically generated and sent over emails. The agency commission and performance linked incentives (PLIs) are generated based on the defined agreements between airlines and sales agents.

Year to date reports and corporate incentive reports are generated based on custom requirements. UBICS works on about 150+ different types of MIS reports for an airline.

Flight load sheets, performance parameters like RTKMs, ASKMs, flight load factors, segment report, route-wise revenue and fuel consumption report are generated as a part of standard MIS reporting suite.

Credit Card Transactions and Reconciliation

Reconciliation of credit card transactions is always been a difficult challenge for revenue accounting functions. UBICS’ solution simplifies this process and helps the airline in handling these challenges.

The credit card sales and refund transactions are reconciled with remittance reports and further the system checks the actual deposits in bank accounts. This two-phase reconciliation helps in maintaining the suspense accounts and amounts receivables.

The sales, remittance and deposit account information, available in electronic format, is captured automatically. A background reconciliation process brings out all possible revenue leakages. The system monitors the differences in ROEs and generates alerts for high value transactions.

The reconciliation system processes the charge-backs that are made by the payment gateway. It helps the airline in chargeback reversal by searching all available information in sales and flown transactions.

  TCN, HOT and Uplift file maintenance, credit card transactions

UBICS provides solutions for extracting data information from TCN sales files that are received from various GDS. The solution also extracts BSP-HOT files into RDBMS database. This solution is especially useful for tracking GDS and BSP sales.

  Adhoc support solutions:

UBICS possess huge amount of techno-domain expertise, perfectly suitable for handling IT requirements of an airline. Typically one of the main challenges is, various software products does not integrate with each other.
