It is a known fact by now that India, an emerging global economy is being
considered a major contributor of Human Capital. And in a sincere endeavor to
take India to greater heights the University of Mumbai, too is making sure it
leaves no stone unturned! One of the oldest and well—known universities of
India, University of Mumbai has roped in UBICS for one of its IT Products,
SeeItFirst, to incorporate it in its Distance Learning Programs.
A vast student population combined with the increasing popularity of Distance
Learning Programs has prompted the University of Mumbai to extend a “classroom
experience” to all its students spread across the country.
Using the SeeItFirst solution, the university can now integrate study material,
present on pre-recorded VHS tapes, with PowerPoint slides and voice-overs by
professors, and stream it. The Streamed CDs of various subjects actually create
a class without the need for a classroom for all the students taking courses
under the Distance Learning curriculum.
SeeItFirst allows a limited pool of expertise to reach out to thousands of
students, economically, without them having to travel and vice versa! The
students too can easily communicate with the experts, as soon as they have a
query… just like they would if they were sitting in a real class!
